Unified Patent Court News!
The final stone in the pavement has been put in place after German ratification of the UPC agreement. This means that the Unified Patent Court and the European Patent with unitary effect become a reality on 1 June 2023.
With the new system patent owners have a choice of common jurisdiction for their issued European Patents in the countries that have ratified the agreement. This includes France, Germany, Italy, Denmark and other important countries. Countries outside the agreement may be entered by traditional national validation of the European Patent.
We will be more than happy to provide strategic advice and recommendations for optimal protection in Europe by use of the new system. We can also help with the various measures available in the period up to 1 June 2023.
